A Seat at the Table Program Participant
Nomination Criteria
Participation in A Seat at the Table is by nomination only from a pastor or Partner Youth Organization staff member.
To help a pastor or Partner Youth Organization staff member determine if a potential nominee is a “good fit” for A Seat at the Table, here are criteria that a potential candidate must have shown to-date:
Should an applicant meet the above criteria, then the nominating pastor or Partner Organization staff member should contact A Seat at the Table Executive Director Bob Stergos ([email protected] or M: 636-795-5192) to ask that a Participant Application form be sent to the nominee.
To help a pastor or Partner Youth Organization staff member determine if a potential nominee is a “good fit” for A Seat at the Table, here are criteria that a potential candidate must have shown to-date:
- a track record of good behavior and high moral character over a sustained recent period of time
- the intent to do well in life despite coming from an unstable home living situation and/or a lack of resources
- that they would lean into the “family” and “faith” aspects of ASATT, more so than the provided physical and financial resources
- the ability to live well “in community” with housemates, peers, classmates, co-workers, etc.
- a history of choosing friends wisely, avoiding those people that are NOT emotionally or physically safe
- respect for others, particularly house parents and those in authority
- a “CLEAR” legal background, as a police and motor vehicle background check will be ordered for each nominee
